  1. Colonizing Other Worlds Task: • Open up google docs and make a powerpoint • Set up in the Problem, Research, Hypothesis, Test, Analysis of Data, and Conclusion format • Your problem (challenge): The year is 2030. Population is climbing, and scientists are continuing to look for expanded living conditions. Planetary colonization is the prime answer. Your mission group must Use the NASA website as well as the below link: https://www.nasa.gov/audience/foreducators/rocketry/home/rockets_stack_up_nf.html#11

  2. select a planet to colonize AND design and build a colony • In addition, you need to • -build / design a working craft to transport people to the planet • -build devices which • A) bring oxygen to colonists • B) cultivate food for colonists

  3. The research section contains facts used from the Astronomy and Seasons units (you must use at least 2 facts from each unit), NASA.gov, and https://www.nasa.gov/audience/foreducators/rocketry/home/rockets_stack_up_nf.html#11 Answer: How much fuel would be needed for your payload (check definition of this term on NASA.gov)

  4. Hypothesis should state which planet your mission believes provides the best environment for a colony. Remember, based on the planet, you may also consider its moons as well.

  5. Materials: Rocket Kit Paper Building Materials (you may supply your own as well)

  6. What you need for the final grade 1. Scientific Method format completed on powerpoint 2. Written diagram of a spacecraft as well as a built spacecraft 3. Written diagram of the colony as well as a built model
