  • SIEC has facilitated the build out of a statewide 700/800 MHz system with open access to all first responders.

  • Programming of radios shall be arranged by the user agencies
  • All radios shall be programmed with the system-wide common interoperable & coordination talk groups
  • Programming Advanced System Keys (ASK) will be purchased by requesting agencies
  • Request for another agency’s Talk groups must be accompanied by Letter of Approval from respective agency
  • No agency shall assign Talk group or Unit IDs
  • No agency shall program any Talk groups assigned to another agency without written consent

Strategic Technology Reserve

A variety of communication resources are available for immediate deployment in an emergency or major incident. These assets are available upon request by local and state agencies through Emergency Support Function (ESF) 2

  • Radio Caches
    • SIEC (200) Portable Radios, Located in Baton Rouge at DPS Radio Communications
  • Mobile Communications Equipment Trailers

The trailers are equipped with 700/800 MHz P25 trunked site, 800 MHz mutual aid repeaters, VHF/UHF mutual aid base stations, interoperability gateway and internet and Voice-Over IP access.
