  3. SURVEYING ALUMNI • The Survey Process begins . . . • Graduating Senior Survey • Survey Link is emailed to the graduating students • Response rate approximately 25% • Administered for each graduation period • May, August and December

SURVEYING ALUMNI • Graduation Day • Students receive our paper questionnaire • Only those students who walk across the stage receive this questionnaire • Response rate is 61% (May 2006) – captive audience • Serves two-fold • Provides information regarding job status • Offers a chance for the graduate to receive help from the Career Center

  5. SURVEYING ALUMNI • Six Month Follow Up • Students who completed the paper survey • Receive an online follow up survey • Did they really go to Graduate School? • Are they still in the same job?

  6. SURVEYING ALUMNI • Post Graduate Survey • Email survey • Sent to Graduate candidates • Approximately two weeks before graduation • Response rate approximately 30% • Administered for each graduation period • May, August and December

  7. SURVEYING ALUMNI • One Year Alumni Survey • Paper Survey • Mailed to the preferred address • Response rate is approximately 18% • Includes inserts for College of Engineering and English majors

  8. SURVEYING ALUMNI • Three Year (Recent) Alumni Survey • Mailed to the preferred address • Paper Survey • Response rate is approximately 18.5% • Includes inserts for College of Engineering and English majors

  9. SURVEYING ALUMNI • Seven Year Alumni Survey • Mailed to the preferred address • Paper Survey • Response rate is approximately 8% • Includes inserts for College of Engineering and English majors

  10. SURVEYING ALUMNI • Engineering Inserts • Used by the College of Engineering for ABET accreditation • This data is compiled in our office and then forwarded electronically to the department.

  11. SURVEYING ALUMNI • Interesting Facts • Absence makes the heart grow fonder • Paper surveys can give a truer representation of the thought processes used to complete survey • Hand-addressed, stamped envelopes did not bring a higher response rate
