PHOENICS VWT

PHOENICS VWT. Rear Wing. Pressure distribution around a two element rear wing design for a hill climb/sprint car. Half scale wind tunnel data was available for lift & drag… Lift = 148N Drag = 24N PHOENICS results using the same half scale dimensions… Lift = 139N Drag = 23N

  2. Rear Wing Pressure distribution around a two element rear wing design for a hill climb/sprint car. Half scale wind tunnel data was available for lift & drag… Lift = 148N Drag = 24N PHOENICS results using the same half scale dimensions… Lift = 139N Drag = 23N Data courtesy of Simon McBeath And the Wing Shop.

  3. Rear Wing Time coloured stream-lines to aid flow visualisation. Stream-lines can also be animated to show the movement of air.

  4. Rear Wing Frontal view of stream-lines showing the generation of wing tip vortices.

  5. Rear Wing Pressure contour across the middle of the wing. This can be toggled to show velocity.

  6. Front Wing Velocity contour across the middle of the wing. This can be toggled to show pressure.

  7. Front Wing Use of vectors for flow visualisation.
