  2. Localización Sierra Espuña es un Parque Regional de la Región de Murcia (España), situado entre los municipios de Alhama de Murcia, Totana, Aledo y Mula. Pertenece a la Cordillera Bética, encontrándose en su extremo más oriental dentro de la Cuenca del Segura. Sierra Espuña consta de 17.804 hectáreas y más de 25.000 contando con el conjunto montañoso. En el año 1931, Sierra Espuña fue declarada de interés cultural.

  3. Su clima Su clima es mediterráneo con temperaturas suaves. Inviernos fríos pero cortos y veranos secos y calurosos. Aunque Sierra Espuña goza de un microclima algo mas húmedo que el resto de la región, con temperaturas medias anuales que oscilan entre los 13,5º C y en período frío con temperaturas inferiores a los 7º C; estas temperaturas varían con la altitud, llegando incluso por debajo de los 0º C en algunos días al año.

  4. La fauna • La composición faunística de Sierra Espuña es bastante variada. Solo la comunidad de vertebrados está constituida por 8 especies de anfibios, 17 de reptiles, 123 de aves y 38 de mamíferos
