  7. El cuerpo del monstruo You will now draw a monster using the numbers you chose. The numbers you chose correspond with the following body parts. If you chose a number twice, you will use that body part twice. You should draw your monster with body parts located In the order of your number sequence! 1. Cabeza 2. Boca 3. Nariz 4. Mano 5. Pierna 6. Pie 7. Ojo 8. Brazo For example, if you chose: #1, 2, 2, 4 You would draw a monster with a head, 2 mouths, And one hand.

  8. Los ArticulosDefinitivos Let’s look at how you labeled your monster. Did you use words like “el, la, los, las”? If you didn’t, do you know where to add them? In your notes, write: El 21 de octubre Definite Articles Now take notes as la Sra. explains the difference between el, la, los, las.

  9. Los ArticulosDefinitivos Gender of nouns: In Spanish, every noun must be masculine or feminine. There is no way to guess what the gender the noun is, so you must memorize it! One way to know the gender of a noun is to look at its definite article (the word “the”). Definite Articles: In Spanish, there are 4 ways to say “THE”: el, la, los, las.

For example: El cuerpo, el ojo, el dedo Los is used with masculine plural nouns. Masculine plural nouns typically end in an OS. For example: Los cuerpos, los ojos, los dedos La is used with feminine singular nouns. Feminine singular nouns typically end in an A. For example: La boca, la pierna, la rodilla Las is used with feminine plural nouns. Feminine plural nouns typically end in an AS. For example: lasbocas, laspiernas, lasrodillas **There are exceptions which you must memorize. For example: La nariz, La mano

You will look at nouns and decide if they are masculine, feminine, singular or plural. Put an X in each of the appropriate boxes. Then write the English meaning of the word.

  13. Me duelevs Me duelen Me duele is used when you are describing ONE body part that hurts. For example: Me duele el brazo. You are actually saying “The arm hurts me”. Me duelen is used when you are describing MORE THAN ONE body part that hurts. Me duelen los ojos. You are actually saying “The eyes hurt me.”

Me duelevs Me Duelen In your notes, write the following sentences. • My nose hurts. • My foot hurts. • My legs hurt. • My feet hurt. • My toes hurt. • My stomach hurts. • My hands hurt. • My shoulders hurt. • My eyes hurt. • My head hurts. Then listen as we discuss the answers and check your work!

  16. Special note! In English, we use possessive adjectives with body parts. In Spanish, we do not. We only use the definite (or indefinite) article. Me duele EL brazo. (The arm hurts me.)

  17. Practicamos Write 5 sentences from the perspective of your monster. He will say things like: My FOOT hurts! If he happens to have multiples of the same body parts that hurt, you can insert the number. For example: My three feet hurt! Me duelen los tres pies.
