Gordie’s story is not unique David Bogenberger Age 19 Norther Illinois University Died after an alcohol-related hazing initiation ceremony…very similar to Gordie Adam Baxter Age 19 University of Maine Men’s Soccer Rookie star athlete Benjamin Sprague Age 19 Clemson University Pledging Sigma Nu Fraternity– following his older brother’s footsteps Jacob Stiles Age 20 Southern Methodist University Member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity Olivia Pryor Age 18 Michigan State University First year Journalism student Amanda Jax Age 21 University of Minnesota Died the morning after her 21st birthday

  7. Alcohol is a Depressant It slows down the body’s central nervous system… …including heart rate and breathing. When consumed in high doses… …these vital functions can stop completely. A person may also lose control of their gag reflex… increasing the likelihood of aspiration should they vomit while they are asleep.

  8. “BAC starts to decline after a person stops drinking.” • If there is still alcohol in a person’s stomach, their BAC will continue to rise as it begins to absorb into their blood stream.
