  1. ENERGY!!! By Joel Saju Kombara

  2. EVERYTHING HAS ENERGY

  3. From People

  4. TO CATS

  5. Evena rubber duck

  6. But What Is Energy? Energy is the ability to do work. Energy cannot be created or destroyed but can only change from one form to another. The Joule is the unit for Energy.

  7. There are many forms of energy such as • SOLAR - ELECTRICAL/MAGNETIC • WIND - SOUND • TIDAL - HEAT • KINETIC • POTENTIAL • NUCLEAR • CHEMICAL • LIGHT • GRAVITATIONAL

  8. ADVANTAGES OF ENERGY: -IT CAN BE RENEWABLE -ELECTRICITY USES ENERGY -IF WE DIDN'T HAVE ENERGY WE WOULDN'T SURVIVE

  9. DISADVANTAGE OF ENERGY: *IT CAN BE DANGEROUS SUCH AS NUCLEAR ENERGY *IT CAN BE NON-RENEWABLE

  10. These are examples of energy changing from one form to another in our modern world Light Bulb=Electrical-Heat+Light Coal=Chemical-Heat+Light Solar Powered Calculator=Light-Electrical Car=Chemical-Heat-Kinetic

  11. But all forms of Energy have potential or kinetic energy

  12. KINETIC ENERGY POTENTIAL ENERGY Kinetic Energy is energy that is in motion. Moving water and wind are good examples of kinetic energy. Electricity is also kinetic energy because even though you can't see it happen, electricity involves electrons moving in conductors. Potential energy is energy that is stored. For example a boulder that is sitting on top of a mountain is potential energy because it has the potential to fall.

  13. But where do we get our energy from? We get our Energy from food. Food has chemical energy which after we eat we use

  14. AMAZING ENERGY FACTS

  15. The word energy comes from the Ancient Greek word energia which means activity, operation.Long ago energy was called “Vis Viva” In 1807 Thomas Young was probably the First to use the term “ENERGY”. The law of conservation of energy was also First postulated in the early 19th Century

  16. There are 2 types of energy sources:RENEWABLE and NON-RENEWABLE RENEWABLE RENEWABLE ENERGY IS ENERGY THAT WE CAN USE OVER AND OVER AGAIN AND IT WILL NEVER RUN OUT IF WE LOOK AFTER IT. THIS IS CALLED AN INFINITE RESOURCE. E.G SOLAR,WIND,WATER NON-RENEWABLE NON-RENEWABLE ENERGY IS ENERGY THAT WILL EVENTUALLY RUN OUT. WE ARE USING LOTS OF THESE TYPES OF ENERGY SOURCES.THIS IS CALLED A FINITE RESOURCE E.G COAL,OIL,GAS THESE ARE FOSSIL FUELS.

  17. Fossil Fuels are running out so we need to find new renewable and clean energy sources such as solar, wind, nuclear etc...But time is running out

  18. WASTING ENERGY Leaving appliances/lights on when we don't need them We waste a lot of energy here are examples of how we waste energy: “I waste time and energy in front of the fridge.” People spend about 10.4 hours a year staring at an open fridge.1 Keeping your laptop or cell phone charged in.It wont go past 100% but it will waste energy http://www.savewithsrp.com/advice/EnergyHog.aspx

  19. Sometimes when we use energy there is also waste energy such as in a lightbulb. In a lightbulb we want light energy but there is also heat energy
