  2. 5th grade choir performs for Christmas program and main office personnel Fine Arts Program rated Exemplary TEKS based fine arts experiences are offered year round during the day and afterschool that include 4th Grade Estudiantina, 3rd Grade Keyboarding, 5th grade choir. Students perform for their school peers, staff and community. Garza Elementary

  3. Red Ribbon Week Activity Wellness and Physical Education Programs rated Recognized Students participate in Red Ribbon week activities as well as get moving health initiatives sponsored by our the campus and district. Garza Elementary

Parents and students have lunch together during National School Lunch Week Community and Parental Involvement rated Acceptable Students are involved with the community by participating in District Toy Drive, Annual Christmas Food Drive, March of Dimes, Pasta for Pennies for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Garza Elementary

  5. Do you want to become an officer? 21st Century Workforce Development rated Recognized Students participate in Career Day with 20 local community partners that share their work experiences and participate in college awareness days. Garza Elementary

  6. Projects done before going on field trip to the ART Museum Second Language Acquisition Program Recognized Garza Elementary 4th grade students visited the Brownsville Museum of Fine Art the King Tut exhibit. Garza Elementary

  7. Garza Students participate in technology in all parts of learning Digital Learning Environment rated Recognized Students are involved in digital learning at Garza Elementary fostering creativity, innovation and digital citizenship. Garza Elementary

  8. BISD PD presents to parents and students Dropout Prevention Strategies rated Exemplary Students participate in afterschool tutorials and Saturday academics with innovative learning and hands-on activities. Garza Elementary

  9. DI Team placed third Gifted and Talented Program rated Recognized Students placed 3rd place in the regional Destination Imagination competition. Chess team has gone to represent BISD for the past three years at the National Chess competition. Garza Elementary
