  2. The marching band of any style has an essential part called the drum line. Bugle corps, show bands, corps bands, or drum, may be some marching bands with drum lines. The drum line also enhances the overall look of the marching ensemble, apart from contributing to the sound of show pieces. Depending on what style is wanted for a particular show, the types and number of drums in the drum line can be altered. History At several different developing stages, such as the integration of women in to its ranks have been undergone by the marching band and the drum line. The age of marching drum lines have been brought about by the development of the boom of drum and bugle corps in the 1970's. You can find these now used in Marching Band music Florida. Types Depending on the preference of the director, the drum line, also called the battery typically consists of bass drums, marching snare drums, tenor drums, and sometimes cymbals.

  3. Pearl Quads Size The size of the marching ensemble as a whole determines the size of the drum. A university band of four hundred players may have a drum line with fifty or more members, where as a high school band consisting of only forty players may only have a drum line of five. Function The sound of the ensemble is adding color by each piece of the drum line in a marching band. The maintenance of a constant beat, especially on the part of the snare drums, is aided by each piece. To give the initial starting tempo for a performance piece, a snare player may also tap off for a measure. Snare Drums Benefits There are numerous benefits of including different types of drums in Marching Band music and shows. Each instrumentalist is able to add much to refine the music on the field, since each various drum has its own distinctive sound. Each drum can easily be heard over the rest of the band. Thus, to cue them for certain movements in the show, other members of the ensemble are able to listen for certain drum parts.
