About Me • I live in Springfield with my mom, dad, 2 cats, and 7 fish. • I like the colors purple and blue. • My favorite season is winter. • My favorite thing to do after homework is watch Disney Channel. • My favorite music is pop rock. • My favorite sports are softball, basketball and volleyball. • My birthday is November 5. • People describe me as fun, a little crazy, and a good friend.

About My ePal • Lyzette’s favorite color is green. • Her favorite sport is volleyball. • Favorite website is Taylor Lautner.   • Favorite subject is English. • She has one sibling. • Her favorite channel is Disney. • Her favorite  animal is the panda.  • Her favorite season is winter. • Her birthday is on September 6.  • Three words that describe her are nice, happy, and fun.

About Springfield • Springfield is located on the northern edge of Union County in New Jersey. • According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 5.15 square miles (13.3 km2), all of it land. • Springfield is a suburban area. • Springfield has 4 seasons – fall, winter, spring, and summer.

  6. About Tucson • Tucson is a city in and the county seat of Pima County, Arizona, United States. The city is located 118 miles (188 km) southeast of Phoenix and 60 miles (98 km) north of the United States - Mexico border. • According to the United States Census Bureau, Tucson has a total area of 195.1 square miles (505 km2), of which 194.7 square miles (504 km2) is land and 0.4 square miles (1.0 km2) (0.22%) is water. • Tucson is an urban area. • Tucson has a desert climate with two major seasons, summer and winter plus three minor seasons: fall, spring, and the monsoon. .

How the climate in Springfield affects my life • What effects me the most is all the damp and cold weather because it makes my nose runny and stuffy all at the same time and I have to take my disgusting medicine. • In fall I will wear a median heated coat. • In spring I will a light suit shirt. • In summer I will wear a tank top and no jacket. • In winter I will wear a heavy coat.

  8. How the climate in Arizona affects my epal’s life I think the climate affects my epal in summer is she might get very tanned because it is extremely hot there during the summer. In winter, I think she get’s very cold. In spring I think she get’s sick of rain. In fall I think it get’s a little chilly. In summer I think my epal feels really hot. My Culture, Custom, and Holidays • I celebrate the holidays that many Americans celebrate, like Christmas, Easter, July 4th, and my birthday. • My mom and dad are from Barbados, but they also celebrate Christmas and Easter there. They do not celebrate American holidays like Thanksgiving but they have other holidays, like Barbados Independence Day and Cropover.

  10. My ePal’s Culture ,Custom, and Holidays • All Souls Procession is one of the largest festivals in Tucson. Celebrated since 1990, it is held on the first Sunday in November. Modeled on the Mexican holiday Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), it combines elements of African, Anglo, Celtic, and Latin American culture. At sundown, thousands of people garbed in myriad costumes, mostly of the deceased. • The Tucson Gem & Mineral Show is held every year in February for two weeks. It is one of the largest gem and mineral shows in the world, and features many of the finest mineral specimens. There is no single location for display of minerals, but rather close to fifty locations spread across town.

  11. Similarities • My ePal and I are the same because we both like volleyball. • We both are happy and like to have fun. • We both like cats and dogs. • We both have the same favorite season – winter.

  12. Differences • Her favorite color is green and my favorite coIor is purple. • Her favorite subject is English and my favorite subject is math. • Her favorite animal is a panda and my favorite animal is a monkey.
