Introduction • The prevalence of diabetes in Australia is on the rise • Search for recent data on diabetes • Report on comparative data • Discuss any other patterns revealed by the data. • Discuss diabetes among Australian adults from a social, environmental and biological determinants of health perspective • What is diabetes (only a few word) • Are you looking at Type 1 or Type 2

Introduction cont… • This essay/paper will look at diabetes in Australian adults • This essay will discuss the increasing prevalence of diabetes in Australian adults (AIHW 2006) • Need to reference the age group you are using for adult eg. 25-64 (abs, AIHW) – For this report an adult is aged 25-66 (AIHW 2006) – this is the reference because that’s the age group the AIHW uses in that report • Perhaps put a statistic in here to show it is a significant problem • The essay/paper/report with then compare • state the comparisons you are making eg. Male V Female, Rural V Urban • Further the paper/essay/report will discuss/explain these statistical differences/ differing data through a social, biological and environmental perspective • Chapter 2 Reidpath, Marmot = social • Chapter 3 ……………….=Biological • Chapter 3 ………………= Environmental
