In May 2013, the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) held consultations across five locations to gather input from municipal program managers. The sessions aimed to address ideas, concerns, and feedback on waste management policies. Key insights included appreciation for the improved pay-out funding model, transparency, and simplification. Municipal staff requested continued communication, opportunities for involvement, and tools for better policy development. The proposed Best Practices Objectives and changes in the funding model align with municipal needs and expectations.
