What We’ve Heard so Far • Sessions are beneficial • Municipal staff see results from last year • We’re getting the right stuff done • improved 2013 pay-out funding model • fairer • more transparent • much simpler • addressing the on-going CNA/OCNA in-kind issue Association of Municipalities of Ontario

What We’re Hearing Municipal staff have told us: • keep us informed! • show us the opportunities • help us decide • Provincial MRF Study suggests some paths forward • Provide us tools and support to improve • Involve Municipal Leaders in Policy Development Association of Municipalities of Ontario

New Best Practices Objectives • Replaces original question and response section with a more useful report • 3 main theme modules of equal value: • Plan, Monitor and Forecast; • Management by Results – how do you compare to your peers; • Excellence in Training, P&E and Blue Box Policy development. Simplifying Datacall • Datacall provides valuable information but: • input is cumbersome and time consuming • it doesn’t have simple forms for small programs • it doesn’t interface with accounting software • it asks many questions that are not as useful • Some liked the GAP questions • useful for comparison with others • most useful to larger municipal programs Association of Municipalities of Ontario

  7. This Year’s Key Messages • Carry on Consulting • Pay-out Funding Model changes are what we asked for • Proposed Best Practices Objectives are fair and reasonable • CIF Funding at 5% produces reasonable results Association of Municipalities of Ontario
