Why Have EWI Reports? • Visually answer whole school questions • Compliment the on-site work being conducted by STFs and teacher teams   • Offer a composite of the ABC data in the form of total EWI per student distributions • Used as informative tools in conversations amongst school leadership, district leadership and other stakeholders.

  3. Process Overview • STFs collect school site data • STFs submit school site data and ABC cover sheet • Data team cleans data • Data team codes data • Data team analyzes data • Data team generates graphs and reports • Regional Directors and Field Managers access reports through Dropbox

Know Your ABCs • Attendance • On-Track: >90% ADA • Sliding: >85% and ≤90% ADA • Off-Track: ≤85% ADA • Behavior • On-Track: 0 out of school suspensions • Sliding: No sliding category in behavior • Off-Track: 1 or more out of school suspensions • Coursework (English Language Arts and Math) • On-Track: Grade of A, B, or C • Sliding: Grade of D • Off-Track: Grade of F

  5. Calculating EWIs • Students receive an Early Warning Indicator for each ABC category in which they are off-track. • Students can have from 0 to 4 EWIs in each academic quarter.

ABC Coversheet Walkthrough • Key points • Coversheet must be submitted along with each quarter’s dataset • Coversheet must clearly describe both presentation and calculation of ABC data • Coversheet must specify if EWI definitions other than the standard definitions are to be used • Coversheet must highlight changes in school/classroom policy that may affect ABC data

  7. What is in the Report? How are we doing with students who were off track at the end of Quarter 1 or Quarter 2?

  8. What is in the Report? What is the Early Warning Indicator (EWI) risk level at the end of Quarter 3 for students who had any EWIs at the end of Quarter 1?

  9. What is in the Report? Number of students on-track at Quarter 1 or Quarter 2 who showed an increase in risk level by the end of Quarter 3

  10. What is in the Report? Distribution of student risk levels at the end of Quarter 3 Distributions exclude students with missing data

  11. Report Comprehension Questions Graph 1 • Of the students who were off-track in Behavior in Q1 or Q2, how many recovered in Q3? • What percentage of students who were off-track in Attendance in Q1 recovered in Q3?

  12. Report Comprehension Questions Graph 2 • How many of the students who had 1 EWI at Q1 displayed a decrease in risk level in Q3? • How many of the students who had 2 or more EWIs at Q1 still had 2 or more EWIs at Q3?

  13. Report Comprehension Questions Graph 3 • How many students who were on-track for ELA in Q1 or Q2 withdrew before or during Q3?

  14. Report Comprehension Questions Graph 4 • How many students were sliding in Attendance in Q3? • What percent of students were on-track in Math in Q3?
