  2. Objectives SJCP faculty will be able to • Create a login for Discovery Education • Identify search options and teachers tools available on Discovery Education • Conduct a search for curricular materials • Add multimedia to My Content • Create a class on Classroom Manager

Logging In and Setting Up • Go to www.discoveryeducation.com • Enter the eight-character school passcode in the New User section. • 215F-94CE • Once you have entered the passcode, you will be prompted to create your account. • Fill in required fields • User name must be a minimum of six characters • Confirmation will be e-mailed to you.

  5. Search Options • Quick Search • Curriculum Standard Search • Search by Common Core Standards • Advanced Search • Set specific requirements

  8. My Content • Allows you to collect, organize, share, and retrieve your favorite Discovery Education media resources, assignments, quizzes, and writing prompts in one place. • Create Folders and Subfolders

My Builder Tools • Assignment Builder • Build online activities and web-based projects that are stored on the Discovery Education servers (not wasting more space on your SkyDrive or hard drive) • Quiz Builder • Create online assessments that you can use to test students comprehension or survey prior knowledge • Writing Prompt Builder • Stimulate the writing process in your classroom with thousands of images that are ready-made for declarative, persuasive, narrative, and expository writing exercises.

  10. Classroom Manager • Create, modify, view and delete classes and students all in one place. • Once student username is created, students can login and view/complete assignments posted by teachers.

Discovery Educator Network (DEN) • Participate in an active online community at http://discoveryeducationnetwork.com • Connect with people who similar instructional technology interests. • Download training kits, lesson resources, and support materials. • Use the power of Discovery to make their creative classroom ideas a reality.
