CRP- Committee to re-elect the president • Dean- claimed attorney general ordered the break in and Nixon knew about it and authorized cover up (bribes) • Butterfield- claimed Nixon had a taping system installed in white house to record all conversations • Cox- assigned by Nixon as special prosecutor to get to the bottom of the situation, gets fired

  5. Jaworski- next prosecutor, Nixon forced to hand over tapes proving that he did not approve the break in but he did try and cover it up • Aug 9, 1974 Nixon resigns before he can be impeached (officially charged of presidential misconduct) • Ford takes over as president and pardons Nixon

  6. Spiro Agrew- Nixon’s vice president, forced to resign because he had been taking brides even before Nixon scandal • Ford- appointed new vice president • Ford takes over as president and pardons Nixon Vice presidents
