Most Marketer’s Only Target the Purchase Phase • If you are in a high end, non-emergency niche…most people are going to do do at least some research before they drop $10-20,000 on a purchase. • They’re going to shop around • They also have to trust the person they are buying from...this is why the big brand names dominate • Guess what...we’re building a big brand so we need to do what they do

Will this work for a Kallzu Master Domain? • New Domain went live on 2/7/17 • On 2/17/17 it got its first call from its only big city page a population of 2 million people even though the web page for that city was sitting on page 7. • The call came from an article published on its G+ page that sits in position 3 for a 690 per month search term • Long tail/high buyer intent keywords rank nearly automatically– city specific blog posts– I am averaging 2 positions on the first page– the website, and a Web 2.0. For Des Moines I have an incredible 6 spots, Baton Rouge four spots. • The network and entire site is new, but it has put a few city pages on page 1 for the long term phrases.

The Power BUILDS (Quickly) • The network is interlinked so when you post on one, it sends juice to the others • Since it has such high Domain Authority, the Page Authority builds Fast • That juice gets passed to you MASTER DOMAIN • In a really short period, your properties will be much more powerful than any scraped property you will find– plus since it’s connected to your brand name you get the Google stamp of approval.

Now the Magic Happens • Every time you make a blog post include two links to a city page. • Since the network is woven together, the more posts the more powerful the network becomes • Since the Domain Authority is so high, you will be able to ramp up the Page Authority really fast. • You will be sending super powerful high PA Branded Web2.0 back links to your site • The more powerful your backlinks the higher the metrics go up for your website

  20. My Master Domain • It was an expired domain with a bit of power to begin with. • 50 backlinks 17 referring domains, TF 17 & CF 21 was good, but the Anchor Text was a bit of a mess. I didn’t care because I knew that in about a month it would get cleaned up. • I hired an expert to build a branded network. In the mean time, my team built the entire master domain in about 4 weeks. • Once the the site was finished, we started adding long tail, city specific blog posts slowly building up the frequency of the posting. I will explain in a minute what that looks like…but the results.... • Less than a month since the site was finished, the TF is now 28 and the CF is 32. Majestic is showing 430 backlinks form 254 referring domains.

  21. Are you saying… • That I have to build my entire master domain for this to work? NO • That I have to find an expired domain? NO • In fact, everything that we’re going to talk about will work with a brand new website, that you build slowly….in fact your network may actually hold up better if you go slow.

What Happens Next… • You are going to write or syndicate content to each major city once time a month. • In each of those blog posts you will link back to your city page two times. • You are going to be super conservative on your anchor text. • Only use your Brand Name, Generic Phrases, naked urls—never ever use a phrase the exact phrase you want to rank for… • Well you can do that if you really find the challenge of Google penalties fun!

Mind Your Speed • Break in the network in slowly! • WORTH repeating…go slow– the network is an asset that you want to protect like you protect your master domain! • Did you know Twitter has a Sandbox? You may not be able to tweet articles with links in until you build up some trust. Follow a few folks, they will follow you back and that adds to the trust. So just do some regular tweeting and retweeting for a few days. Test it to see if Twitter will publish your link. • When that happens, your have the green light!

  24. How to Break In the Network • Get your Twitter out of the Sandbox (time varies) • Weeks 1-4: Just make a single blog post • Week 5: post two times • Week 6: Post 3 times • Weeks 7 & 8: you can every day • Week 9: You can post 2 times a day • Week 10: you can post 3 times a day

Twitter Sandbox • Add a few tweets each day • Follow other people, let them follow you back (you don’t need to do this, but I think it helps– it at least makes your account look real.) • Personally I love Twitter– I ranked a plumbing site with only Tweets, so don’t discount its power! • Crowd Fire is a nice tool to manage your followers • Retweet stuff your followers • Test it to see if you are out of the sandbox, by posting a link to an article.

  26. Let’s Build a Mini Network • Open a tab, and log into your Facebook account • Open a tab and log into your Twitter account • Open a tab and log into your G+ account • In a new tab, go to http://buffer.com and open an account • In a new tab, go to http://ifttt.com and open an account

  31. Congratulations • You now have a mini network– this will certainly help automate your backlinks • This might be all you need • But if you need more power then hire a contractor to built you a full network.

  33. Our content should start with the Headline • Making the Question a phrase is a good place to start. • Something that stirs up the consumer’s pain point • Something engaging that will make people want to click the article

  35. Now Your job is to create 5-8 headlines • Does it ask a question? • Could it inform someone early in the buyer’s process • Would you click on it learn more?

  36. Free Photographs • Go to Google and niche • Hit Images • Then hit tools • Useage rights free to use commercially • Go Find 5-8 images for your blog posts!

  37. Make it Local • I’ve tested this and if you want to rank many properties– then you will need at least one geotagged image. • We’re going to use this site to geotag our images • http://www.geoimgr.com/en/tool • At least one image per blog post For the city you want to point backlinks

  38. Video • Google loves YouTube! • Tested this one too….posts with a video do better than posts without! In an ideal world, you would create your own vidoes,, but I do start here as it gives me an idea of the kinds of videos in my niche. Go find 5 videos!

  39. Now we need to find our Blog Posts • You can write them! I do this and then spin them. • But you can also just syndicate content you find on the web • DUDE! What about duplicate content? • That only applies to the content that appears on your own site. If there was a duplicate content penalty Wikipedia would never appear in the search results • As long as you provide attribution of where you found it there is no problem

  40. Characteristics • About 500 words. • Provides good information • Answers the question in the headline! • Don’t over think it!

  41. Go find five articles! • Google News • BuzzSUMO • GOOD OLD FASHIONED SEARCH

Now we are ready to assemble to the posts! • Login to your website: • Click add new post. • Copy the Headline into the title- make sure you add the city in the title • Copy and Paste the article • Add the images that geotagged for that city • Embed the video for that topic • Put the title in the H1 tag and that’s the only on page you need to worry about. • Hit publish!

  43. Now For the Rest! • Rinse and Repeat, but for these…you will schedule the next post to go out next week. • Article 2– the week after that! • Articles 3 and 4 in the week after that • Article 5 in the week after that.

  44. TEST! • Check Facebook Page • Check Twitter • Check Google + • That first article should be there now.

  45. Spin ReWriter and Plugin On the master domain we’re now close to doing 120 posts a month. 4x day. You can do bulk downloads– you set the number you need and in a couple seconds it is ready to go. But here is another cool little tip---It will embed videos in the download file. PLUS you can search for the videos you want, I search by my channel name If You use the Spin ReWriter Plugin– it will spin and republish your posts at some date in the future. I repost annually. I have long buyer’s cycle so I need to provide a lot of education. You may decide to republish more often
