What is Cyber Bullying? • The use of technology and other communication devices as a way of sending or posting harmful and hurtful information about a person or a group of people. • Cyber Bullying is intended to humiliate and alienate a person. • It is also seen as a deliberate way to facilitate harassment and/or threatening to a specific person or group. • Cyber Bullying is an anonymous way to HATE, indirectly.

  3. What Technologies Are Used To Cyber Bully? • Cell Phones • E-Mails • Online Chat Rooms • Communication Networks/Forums (Facebook, Myspace, etc.) • Instant Messaging Services (AIM, BBM, etc.)

  4. How Does One Actually Cyber Bully? • A Cyber Bully May: • Pretend they are other people online to trick others • Spread lies and rumors about victims • Trick people into revealing personal information • Send or forward mean text messages • Post pictures of victims without their consent

What Can Be Done To Prevent Cyber Bullying? • Parent’s start to supervise their underage teens internet use. • School’s ban cell phone use and the use of communicational websites during school hours. • Adults (Parents and School Faculty) address the issue, right after the first attack. • Mediation between the two parties, before the situation escalates. • Disciplinary action be taken as a consequence for Cyber Bullying.

Why Am I Against Cyber Bullying? • I am against cyber bullying because a lot of my friends have taken part in the act and even have been cyber bullied. • I feel that cyber bullying is immature and childish. • If a person (bully) can only say mean and harmful things online, then they shouldn’t say anything at all.
