  11. MBA 101 Masters in Business Administration Graduate level management degree - concentrations: finance; marketing; consulting; entrepreneurship; etc. Does not require an undergraduate degree in business GMAT/GRE are usually required for admission One-Year and Two-Year Programs in the Full-time MBA - internships in the 2-year program Range in size from 20 - 900 students per graduating class Students Typically have several years full-time work experience – some programs accept students without any experience Looking to enhance current career or switch careers Want to develop management and leadership skills Seek a global network

  12. Schools recruit at fairs across the globe to build a diverse class with global perspective Traditional MBA Fairs are held in major cities - vary in size, privately owned or organized by educational/gov’t entities – Good contact point for students to learn about the programs and compare schools Opportunity for admissions to meet large numbers of prospective applicants Some schools will conduct interviews during/around fairs Opportunity for students to establish relationship with Admissions Challenges related to fairs: Schools attend same fairs every year and do not explore other regions Expensive for schools, therefore the number of fairs they attend is limited Time spent with each candidate is not always optimal Tight schedule - move from city to city without much time between fairs

  13. Additional recruiting strategies utilized by schools Visit country and meet students at EducationUSA and Fulbright offices, universities, or at events organized by HR departments in companies Collaborate with test prep centers and provide information sessions, resume workshops Host information sessions and have alumni present with Admissions Offer webinars/chats coordinated by EducationUSA or other educational organization Have current students from country host web chat with Q & A sessions Funding Most schools award merit-based scholarship No application is required Scholarships are based on overall application – usually covers % of tuition. Scholarship budgets are flat or decreasing despite strong need Some schools have in house loans without a US co-signer

  14. Schools look for a diverse population with a diversity of experience Issues schools face GMAT/GRE and GPA averages vary immensely between countries TOEFL/PTE minimums are not always met Prospective students often underestimate preparation involved prior to applying Applicants do not look for their fit to programs; are swayed by rankings Recommendations Work closely with Advisors at Education USA Submit materials to newsletter, conduct webinars Build solid relationships
