  10. PARENT RECRUITMENT Group Committee’s Role The Group Committee can play an important part in the volunteer recruitment process. Section Scouters often struggle to have meaningful conversations with parents about volunteering because they’re so busy with youth and their meeting. Having a Group Committee member present to engage with parents during drop-off and pick-up, allows the Group to develop their parent prospect pool. Having the Group Committee’s involvement in the recruitment process also helps ensure the integration of the volunteer screening and onboarding processes, ensuring a great experience for new applicants.

  11. WAYS TO REACH OUT TO PARENTS • Check Myscouts – Parents signed up to help the group during registration. ( Reports – Parental Involvement Report) • Posting Ads internally among your active member parents ( Email, Newsletters, E-News) • Post your Ads in your Meeting Area. ( Have a portable board or Easel if meeting area don’t have a bulletin board for Scouts Group • Make an announcement at your group meetings as well as have all your activities set for the year and create a sign up sheets. • Make a Scout Fair – have a booth for each activities at the end of April and have a sign up sheets for every activity.

  29. The primary role of all support Scouters and staff members is to facilitate the delivery of high quality programs. This requires focus on appointing the right people to the right roles, ensuring that volunteers receive clear and meaningful orientations, and seeing to it that experienced Scouters are in place and willing to provide regular coaching accompanied by meaningful recognition. With a constant and steady commitment to our volunteers, the number of youth reached by Scouting will increase. The quality of their experiences will improve. Our ability to shape the leaders of tomorrow will grow.
