  1. Advantages of physical therapy & rehabilitation Addiction has an impact on the overall life of an individual and also his or her family. It creates significant physical, mental, emotional, social, financial, and spiritual damages to the addict’s life. Therefore, the individual requires a restoration process of these damages due to the disease of addiction. Rehabilitation is therefore a process by which those suffering from problems with addiction achieve a state of physical, mental, emotional, social well-being and overall optimal functioning. A diverse range of approaches including group therapy, specific behaviour therapies to prevent relapse, involvement with mutual-help group, residence in a therapeutic community or half-way house, vocational training, and work experience are encompassed in this process. There is an expectation of social reintegration into the wider community.

In a residential rehabilitation centre, the individual’s physical health is taken care of by provision of a balanced diet, yoga and exercise, and a healthy routine. Since the person stops taking alcohol or drugs, physical health recoups comparatively faster. 2.
