What is Stress? • Stress is defined as a state of psychological tension or strain. • Stress is part of life so it helps us grow and mature, but to much at one time could put strain on ones health. • There is many things that can cause stress; • College • Car repairs • Relationships • Financial problem

Time For Homework • A small survey was taken and results shows that most students have; • College (most full time) • Part-time job • Payments • Studies shows that most students that are under these conditions have a high stress level. (Chin, Lin, and Tu, 2010) • Due to the fact that they have high standards.

  5. Homework and StressAre they connected? • Studies have shown students that have stayed up doing homework have a higher stress level. (Morris, C.G., Maisto, A.A, 2010) • Some researchers says it because sleep helps controls the amount of stress one can handle. • Large amounts of homework is another reason why Stress could rise. • The brain reacts many ways about stress, but sometimes it over reacts about things that can’t be controlled.

  6. How to Release Stress • There is many ways that people could release stress from there life. • Yoga • Exercise • Religion • Physical activities. • Having friends around when someone is stressed is a good way to relieve stress.

  7. Friends and Peers • People who try to handle stress by themselves are not able to. • Doing activities with friends is one of many ways to release stress. • A survey was taken and results showed that people like to talk to others about there stress problems.

  8. Friends and Peers • People that help someone control their stress are the ones that they tend to stand by. • Friends • Family • Take the movie Forest Gump for example • Through out his amazing journey he always had someone there for him for the ups and downs in his life.
