THE AIMS OF THIS SERMON Ariin nyong banal si Cristo na Panginoon sa inyong mga puso: at maging handa kayo lagi sa pagsagot sa bawa't tao na humihi-ngi sa inyo ng katuwiran tungkol sa pag-asang nasa inyo, nguni't gawin nyo itong may kaamuan at takot (1 PEDRO 3:15). • To give an answer when asked concerning the hope that continually keeps us going. • To build up the faith of my own brethren that they may keep on going. Kaya nga sundin ninyo ang mga bagay na makapapayapa, at ang mga bagay na makapagpapatibay sa isa't isa(ROMA 14:19).

  4. WHY BE A PART OF THE NEW TESTAMENT CHURCH? ITS BIBLICAL CREDENTIALS: 1) Its establishment has been prophesied in the Old Testament! 2) It is the only church Jesus says He would build! 3) It is the only church whose rock foundation is Jesus! 4) It is unique in its being the first church in the whole world!

WHY BE A PART OF THE NEW TESTAMENT CHURCH? 5) It is the only church that can truly claim to be founded in the right place! 6) It is the only church that can truly claim Jesus as its head! 7) It is the church whose only saviour is Jesus! 8) As a New Testament community of believers, it uses scriptural designations!

BECAUSE OF ITS BIBLICAL CREDENTIALS • 1) IT’S THE ONLY CHURCH PRO-PHESIED TO BE BUILT BY GOD HIMSELF! • ISAIAS 2:2. • At mangyayari sa mga huling araw, na ang bundok ng bahay ng Pangi-noonay matatatag sa taluktok ng mga bundok, at magiging mataas sa mga burol; at lahat ng bansa ay magsisiparoon doon.

  7. The phrase “huling araw” refers to the judgment day. But the phrase “mga huling araw” refers to the Christian period that began on Pentecost up to Judgment. It refers to our time. “Mga huling araw” – the Christian dispensation, that period when Christ stands as the Father’s spokes-man to us, or the mediator between us and God. • “Ang Dios, na nagsalita nang unang panahon sa ating mga magulang sa iba't ibang panahon at sa iba't ibang paraan sa pamamagitan ng mga propeta, 2 Ay nagsalita sa atin sa mga huling araw na ito sa pamamagitan, ng kani-yang Anak, na siyang itinalaga na tagapagmana ng lahat ng mga bagay, na sa pamamagitan naman niya'y ginawa ang sanglibutan(HEBREO 1:1-2). Nitong mga huling panahon, Jesus becomes our Savior, our Mediator, our Head, and our King.

  8. “At mangyayari sa mga huling araw, na ang bundok ng bahay ng Pangi-noonay matatatag sa taluktok ng mga bundok” (ISAIAS 2:2). “Nguni't kung ako'y magluwat ng mahabangpanahon, ito ay upang maalaman mo kung paano ang dapat ugaliin ng mga tao sa loob ng bahay ng Dios, ang iglesia ng Dios na buhay, at ang haligi at suhay ng katotohanan”(1 TIMOTEO 3:15).

  9. 2) IT IS THE ONLY CHURCH JESUS SAYS HE WOULD BUILD! “At sinasabi ko naman sa iyo, na ikaw ay Pedro, at sa ibabaw ng batong ito ay itatayo ko ang aking iglesia; at ang mga pintu-an ng Hades ay hindi magsisi-panaig laban sa kaniya” (MATEO 16:18).

  10. AWIT 127:1 Malibang itayo ng Pangi-noon ang bahay, walang kabuluhang nagsisigawa ang nagtatayo: Malibang ingatan ng Pangi-noon ang bayan, walang kabuluhang gumigising ang bantay.

  11. MATEO 15:13 • But Jesus answered and said, Every plant which my hea-venly Father planted not, shall be rooted up. • Datapuwa't sumagot si Jesus at sinabi, Ang bawa't hala-mang hindi itinanim ng aking Ama na nasa kalangitan, ay bubunutin.

  12. 3) THE ONLY CHURCH THAT WAS BUILT ON THE ROCK FOUNDATION OF JESUS’ BEING THE SON OF GOD! At sinasabi ko naman sa iyo, na ikaw ay Pedro, at sa ibabaw ng batong ito ay itatayo ko ang aking iglesia; at ang mga pintuan ng Hades ay hindi magsisipanaig laban sa kaniya (MATEO 16:18). κἀγὼ δέ σοι λέγω ὅτι σὺ εἶ Πέτρος, καὶ ἐπὶ ταύτῃ τῇ πέτρᾳ οἰκοδομήσω μου τὴν ἐκκλησίαν, καὶ πύλαι ἅδου οὐ κατισχύσουσιν αὐτῆς.

  13. 1 CORINTHIANS 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Sapagka't sinoman ay hindi maka-paglalagay ng ibang pinagsasali-gan, kundi ang nalalagay na, na ito'y si Cristo Jesus.

  14. 4) IT IS THE ONLY CHURCH THAT COULD CLAIM TO BE THE FIRST IN THE WHOLE WORLD! • It was built on the first Pentecost after Jesus rose from the dead, according to Acts 2. • ISAIAS 2:2. • At mangyayari sa mga huling araw, na ang bundok ng bahay ng Panginoon ay matatatag sa taluktok ng mga bundok, at magiging mataas sa mga burol; at lahat ng bansa ay magsisiparoon doon.

  17. 5) WAS BUILT IN JERUSALEM, AS PROPHESIED! 1 CORINTHIANS 12:13 “Sapagka't sa isang Espiritu ay binabautismuhantayong lahat sa isang katawan, maging tayo'y Judio o Griego, maging mga alipin o mga laya; at tayong lahat ay pinainom sa isang Espiritu.” 4At, palibhasa'y nakikipagpulong sa kanila, ay ipinagutos niya sa kanila na huwag silang magsialis sa Jerusalem, kundi hintayin ang pangako ng Ama, na sinabi niyang narinig ninyo sa akin(GAWA 1:4). 46 At sinabi niya sa kanila, Ganyan ang pagkasulat, na kinakailangang maghirap ang Cristo, at magbangong muli sa mga patay sa ikatlong araw; 47At ipangaral sa kaniyang pangalan ang pagsisisi at pagpapatawad ng mga kasalanan sa lahat ng mga bansa, magbuhat sa Jerusalem(LUCAS 24:46-47). At maraming bayan ay magsisiyaon at mangagsasabi, Halina kayo, at tayo'y magsiahon sa bundok ng Panginoon, sa bahay ng Dios ni Jacob; at tuturuan niya tayo ng kaniyang mga daan, at tayo'y magsisilakad sa kaniyang mga landas: sapagka't mula sa Sion ay lalabas ang kautusan, at ang salita ng Panginoon ay mula sa Jerusalem(ISAIAS 2:3).

  18. In these modern times, it is still possible to baptize multitudes like what happened on that Pentecost Day of Acts 2. Image below is an artist’s conception of the Holy Spirit baptism event on Pentecost. The apostles underwent baptism in the Holy Spirit, and were set into the church (ACTS 1:4, 5; ACTS 2:1-14). Three thousand souls heard the gospel of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, repented of their sins, and were baptized (ACTS 2:37-38).

  19. 6) THE ONLY CHURCH OF WHICH JESUS IS THE HEAD! • Sapagka't ang lalake ay pangulo ng kaniyang asawa, gaya naman ni Cristo na pangulo ng iglesia, na siya rin ang tagapagligtas ng katawan (EFESO 5:23). There is ONLY ONE BODY (EPH. 4:4). That ONE BODY is the church (EPH. 1:22-23). Christ is the HEAD of the BODY, the Church (EPH. 1:22-23; 5:23; COL. 1:18). 22 At ang lahat ng mga bagay ay pina-sukoniya sa ilalim ng kaniyang mga paa, at siyang pinagkaloobang maging pa-ngulong lahat ng mga bagay sa iglesia, 23 Na siyang katawan niya, na kapus-pusanniyaong pumupuspos ng lahat sa lahat(EFESO 1:22-23).

  20. 7) IT’S A BLOOD-BOUGHT CHURCH! At siya'y manganganak ng isang lalake; at ang pangalang itata-wag mo sa kaniya'y JESUS; sapagka't ililigtas niya ang kaniyang bayan sa kanilang mga kasalanan(MATEO 1:21). At sa kanino mang iba ay walang kaligtasan: sapagka't walang ibang pangalan sa silong ng langit, na ibinigay sa mga tao, na sukat nating ikaligtas(GAWA 4:12). “And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved” (ACTS 2:47). “At idinaragdag sa kanila ng Panginoon araw-araw yaong nangaliligtas” (GAWA 2:47). “Sapagka't ang lalake ay ulo ng kaniyang asawa, gaya naman ni Cristo na ulo ng iglesia. Siya rin ang tagapagligtas ng kanyang katawan” (EFESO 5:23). Si Cristo ang ulo ng iglesia, at ang iglesia ay ang katawan niya (EFESO 1:22-23). • Ingatan ninyo ang inyong sarili, at ang buong kawan, na sa kanila'y ginawa kayo ng Espiritu Santo na mga obispo, upang pakanin ninyo ang iglesia ng Panginoon na binili niya ng kaniyang sariling dugo(GAWA 20:28).

  21. 8) USES SCRIPTURAL DESIGNATIONS Ang mga iglesia ni Cristo (Rom. 16:16). “Ang iglesia” (Mateo 18:15; 18:17; Gawa 5:11; 8:1; etc.). “Ang iglesia ng Dios na buhay” (1 Tim. 3:15). “Ang sangbahayan ng Dios” (1 Tim. 3:15). Ang kaharian (Dan. 2:44; Marcos 9:1; Colosas 1:13). Ang katawan ni Cristo (Rom. 12:5; 1 Cor. 12:13; Efe. 1:23; 4:4).
