Exploring Ghostly Figures and Cultural Realities Through Photography and Art

This project delves into the interplay of memory, culture, and identity through innovative photographic techniques and artistic expression. First, long exposure photographs will capture ghostly figures, perhaps depicting deceased family members alongside living relatives in imaginative compositions. Next, the project will examine "home away from home," documenting cultural contrasts and sociopolitical issues, including local graffiti. Lastly, inspired by Alexa Meade, art will emerge by transforming people and objects into living canvases, blending reality and paint in outdoor settings, creating a unique visual language.

  1. FMP IDEA: 1 Take photographs with long exposure to create ghostly figures Have a room filled with family and a ghostly figure (perhaps deceased family member) Create twin ghostly figures of the same person within one photograph

  2. FMP IDEA: 2 Look at the idea of home away from home Document the differences between the culture (old and new) Document the ‘troubles’ and uprising going on there Take photographs of all the political graffiti

  3. Final Idea - Create ‘paintings’ using people and objects as canvas Inspired by Alexa Meade (make my work unique and different from hers) eg: Have model looking into the mirror and have her reflection as a painting Paint people and put them in outdoor environments Use the idea of only having certain areas painted Play with exposure times to perhaps make models look more ghost-like.
