  1. Volunteering at Starfish We welcome volunteers! Starfish is a working foster home with 47 babies and a staff of 28. It is a busy place! Each baby needs love, care, and the comforting reassurance of another’s touch. Each baby comes to this foster home with special medical needs as well, and undergoes life-saving surgeries that will transform the child’s life. We rely on volunteers to bring that special touch, a warm heart, and a friendly smile into the lives of these special children. You may chooseto help with the baby care, but we are always in need of help in a variety of other areas as well. Find yours here or tell us of your ideas! • Hold babies and help with feeding, etc. • Shower the babies with love and affection! • Bring much needed donated items. • Help with clerical, administrative, scrapbooking, or computer work. • Help with renovation, building maintenance, repairs. • Help with interior design and decoration.   4. Can I stay at Starfish while volunteering? • Yes! Starfish has simple but comfortable accommodations for volunteers. Rooms have air-conditioning and heating. • We have separate dorm rooms for men and women. (click here for link to photos – on photo page show rooms, bathroom, give details – still need these ) • We can usually accommodate families. • We welcome small children, but ask that they are supervised at all times by parents. • You are responsible for your own plane ticket. We recommend checkingwww.flychina.com • for prices to China. • For in-China plane and train transportation, check www.elong.net and http://english.ctrip.com/. • Transportation to and from the Xi’an airport is available for Starfish volunteers at a cost of 100RMB each way.
