  5. The history of Maarten van Rossem Maarten van Rossem has had many different names over the past years. The Association of technical schools in Arnhem was started in 1969. The demand was so great that a second technical school was started. In 1972, there was formed a collaboration with the comprehensive school “Vredenburg” which lasted until 1991. At that time it became “Maarten van Rossem”. The name Maarten van Rossem comes from a combative warlord who lived from 1478 till 1555. He became a very rich man through plunder. In 1995 the name changed in Lorentz college. After 9 years, in 2006, the name changed back in “Maarten van Rossem”. In 2011, Wethouder Bronkhorst , a small VMBO school especially for children with some kind of indication, joins “Maarten van Rossem”.

  7. Maarten van Rossem • Maarten van Rossem is obviously more than a place to learn. It's also a place to live, to have fun with others, to share grief with others. In our community everyone is equally accepted. Our school is a community where we can live together everyone regardless of race, color or beliefs. We believe good and challenging education in a safe environment adapted to the last developments.
