  4. Phase 2-implementingactivitiesyoucould use in yourclassroom • Arrange students in groups of three or four. Have each group write five questions about Emily Carr • Have students research the answers to these questions on the Internet and in other sources. Each group is to present what it has learned in a talk show format. One student is to be the talk show host asking the questions, the other students are to be the historical figure (special guests) answering the questions

  5. Phase 3-Evaluation/Revision Each group is to present what it has learned in a talk show format. One student is to be the talk show host asking the questions, the other students are to be Emily Carr answering the questions. Studentsneed to: • Draft the talk show questions • Choose a name for their show (perhaps theme music as well) • Rehearsetheir show • Collect and / or make appropriate props and costumes • Present the talk show • Answer questions from the “studio audience” • Receive feedback from their peers Extension: • Have students write commercials for the intermission, advertising products and services that would have been appropriate to the time and situation.
