  1. Introducing WDHT WebFacing Deployment Tool with HATS TechnologyThe Facts

  2. Topics • What We Had: HATS & WebFacing • Key Market Requirements • What is WDHT? What’s New for HATS & WebFacing? • WDHT Pricing Structure & Promotion • Roadmap of HATS/WebFacing to WDHT • What Else Do You Need to Know to Get Started • Summary & Key WDHT Messages

  3. HATS for iSeries • No source code required – “on-the-fly” conversion of 5250 datastreams • Programmable screen flow using scripts, variables & macros • HATS Toolkit in WDSc & WDSc AE • HATS for iSeries required to deploy application to production – user-based, processor-based, tier-based for P05 & P10 • HATS applications required OLTP capacity

  4. The IBM WebFacing Tool • Creates permanent Web artifacts based on Display file DDS • Pre & post conversion customization capabilities • IBM WebFacing Tool in WDSc and WDSc AE • No deployment/usage charges • WebFaced applications required no OLTP capacity

  5. Key Market Requirements for Host Access Transformation Services (HATS) for iSeries: • Resolve the contention and confusion in the channel and market between HATS and WebFacing Tool • Remove the OLTP requirements for HATS so it can run on i5/OS Standard Edition • Make the HATS usage charges more affordable - Introduce tier-based pricing for WebFacing Tool: • Resolve the contention and confusion in the channel and market between HATS and WebFacing Tool • Provide out-of-the-box integration between WebFaced applications and system screens and non-WebFaced applications

  6. What is WDHT? • A runtime enabler allowing the WebFacing Tool and HATS technologies to work together in an integrated fashion - Allows refacing projects to combine the strengths of HATS and WebFacing • A replacement for HATS for iSeries and HATS for eServer i5 520 • A new runtime component for the WebFacing Tool • An IBM Passport Advantage product • A product that provides a system wide solution for multiple applications, with or without source code The one strategic IBM refacing solution for iSeries

  7. What’s new for HATS for iSeries customers? • No OLTP capacity required starting with i5/OS V5R4 • Leverages 5250W connection through the WebFacing Server on System i5 • Cost-effective iSeries processor/tier pricing for WDHT – user-based and processor-based options still available • WDHT replaces HATS for iSeries and HATS for eServer i5 520 – existing customers will automatically be migrated to WDHT • HATS Toolkit is available in WDSc & WDSc AE, from the Web, and in WDHT • WDHT is required to deploy new Web-enabled applications to production

  8. What’s new for WebFacing customers? • Extensions to provide “out-of-the-box” integration of WebFaced applications with system screens and 5250 applications starting with i5OS V5R4 • Leverages the “on-the-fly conversion” capabilities of HATS to Web-enable system screens and non-WebFaced 5250 applications • Inherits the GUI style of the WebFaced application • WDHT is required for production deployment of applications that leverage new WebFacing extensions • Cost effective processor/tier pricing • User and processor-based options available • WDHT is NOT required for applications that DO NOT take advantage of the new WebFacing extensions

  9. WDHT Pricing Structure and Promotion Pricing • Subcapacity p/ns will be introduced when WDHT and HATS are ITLM-enabled (tentatively v7) • WDHT price promotion in effect through September 30, 2006 • US: http://www.ibm.com/isource/cgi-bin/goto?it=usa_annred&on=306-085 • Canada: http://www.ibm.com/isource/cgi-bin/goto?it=can_announ&on=A06-0551 • EMEA: http://www.ibm.com/isource/cgi-bin/goto?it=eme announ&on=ZA060167 • AP: http://www.ibm.com/isource/cgi-bin/goto?it=aps_announ&on=PP06-0085

  11. What else do you need to know? • HIS for iSeries now includes WDHT instead of HATS • WebFacing customers will no longer be able to build “free” projects with Release v7.0 tool • “Free” WebFacing projects will be supported with v6.0.1 tool until EOS for i5/OS V5R4 • i5OS V5R4 models providing support for WDHT (no OLTP for HATS, WebFacing Extension for “out-of-the-box” integration with Non-WebFaced 5250 applications & system screens) • models 810, 825, 870, 890, 520, 550, 570, 590, 595 -- > Leverage Price Promotion to Migrate to WDHT
