  3. Benefits of the program: • 6 hours of credit, of which 3 hours fulfill the intercultural requirement under the Liberal Studies Program • Opportunity to see different cultures first-hand • Chance to visit numerous historical landmarks in Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary and Italy

  4. Costs & Payments • Land & Air travel : $5011 • Tuition: $1743 • Insurance: $36 • Contingency Cost: $200 • TOTAL: $6990

  5. Included in this cost: • Tuition for 6 credit hours • Round-trip airfare from St. Louis • Housing and breakfast as specified • Admissions to historic and cultural sites on itinerary • Chartered bus or public transportation to the places shown on itinerary

  6. Included in this cost (cont.): • Field trips and seminars related to European economic trends and issues • Guides and couriers for excursions • Health insurance

  7. Not included in the cost: • Cost of participant’s passport • Travel to/from St. Louis • Lunch and dinner • Incidental expenses • Any expenses due to airline delays

  8. Payment Process • Initial non-refundable deposit of $300 by Friday, January 18, 2013 • Balance of the program cost is payable in two installments • 1st installment due by Friday, February 22 • 2nd installment due by Friday, March 29

  9. Financial Aid • This program is part of the course offerings at Truman, so enrolled students may apply for any student loans for which they would normally be eligible • Financial aid office will assist with information about possible eligibility for Stafford and Cultural Loans

  10. Scholarships • 10 TSU Foundation Study Abroad Scholarships for $1500 • 6 Hoffman Family Scholarships for $2,500 • 5 Larry and Janet Rigdon Europe in Transition Study Abroad Scholarships for $2,000 • All scholarships are awarded on competitive basis. Application due by January 24, 2013 and can be found here: https://secure.truman.edu/studyabroadscholarships/

  11. 3 Items Needed to Join the Program: • Fill out the Application for TSU 2013 Educational Travel Programs form • Fill out the TSU Assumption of Risk and Release form • Supply $300 deposit. Issue your deposit check to : Truman state University. Write “Europe in Transition” in the memo. • Turn all three of these into Dr. Lin or Dr. Harrison
