  1. God’s strategy Romans 8:14(AMP) For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

  2. God’s Design & Strategy Ephesians 2:10 (AMP) For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].

  3. God’s Design • God’s priority was always our spirit would lead and that our soul and body would come into alignment. Thus eating continually from the tree of life (communion & relationship with Him). The definition of the deeper life than means that we continually with the Spirit and we bring life to our soul and bodies! • Examples: Adam, Enoch, Noah, Moses, David.

  4. Glory Is Progressive • 2 Corinthians 3:16-18 (NASB) • 6 but whenever a person turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.

  5. Satan’s Strategy - Defilement • Satan, the enemy of our spirit desires to destroy our spirit through different processes: • Destroy our communion with God • Eat of the tree of knowledge of good & evil, • Questions God’s authority & integrity • Sensory overload: • Pollutes our generations • Abuse: damaging words and experiences that crush, wound and even shatter our spirit to destroy our spirits ability to even respond to God

  6. God’s Strategy - Sanctification • 1 Thessalonians 5:23(AMP) • And may the God of peace Himself sanctify you through and through [separate you from profane things, make you pure and wholly consecrated to God]; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved sound and complete[and found] blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah).

  7. Sanctification - Defined • Sanctified: Hagiazo: • To render or acknowledge, or to be venerable or hallow (holy), • To separate from profane things and dedicate to God • To set apart for sacred use; consecrate • To consecrate things to God, dedicate people to God • To purify, to cleanse externally, to make holy; purify • To give social or moral sanction to • To purify by expiation: free from the guilt of sin • To purify internally by renewing of the soul • To give religious sanction to, as with an oath or vow: sanctify a marriage. • To make productive of holiness or spiritual blessing.

  8. Importance of Sanctification • Hebrews12:14(NASB) • Pursuepeace with all men, and the sanctificationwithoutwhich no one willsee the Lord. • Matthew 5:8(NASB) • “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God”.

  9. How We Are Sanctified • Act of God • 1 Corinthians 6:11-12(NASB) • Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God. • 12 All things are lawful for me, but not all things are profitable. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be mastered by anything.

  10. Relationship of Justification & Sancification • Justification: • Is the act of God by which my sin isforgiven and I’mwashed by the blood. I’mgiven His righteousness • Sancification: • Is the act of God by which He transforms me into His image. • Romans 8:9 (NASB) • For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; 30 and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.

  11. How We Are Sanctified • Man’s Part • 2 Timothy 2:21 (NASB) • Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from these things, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work. • Work Out Salvation • Philippians 2:12 (NASB) • So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling;

  12. How We Are Sanctified • Yielding My Body • Romans 6:19(AMP) • I am speaking in familiar human terms because of your natural limitations. For as you yielded your bodily members [and faculties] as servants to impurity and ever increasing lawlessness, so now yield your bodily members [and faculties] once for all as servants to righteousness (right being and doing) [which leads] to sanctification. • 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NASB) • Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? 20 For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.

  13. Warning of Not Yielding • 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 (NASB) • Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God

  14. Learning to Hate What God Hates • Pride, haughtiness, lies, hands the shed innocent blood, hearts that devise wicked plans, feet that run rapidly to evil, false witnesses, one who spreads strife & causes division, immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, worldly-mindedness, fornication, adulterers, homosexuality, perversion, stealing, covetousness, reviling, swindling, hard hearts, greed, religious spirit, unbelief, disobedience, unforgiveness, corrupt, communication, course jesting, uncleanness and self-righteousness.

  15. Learning to Love what God Loves • Love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, self control, faithfulness, goodness, kindness, faith, heavenly mindedness, care for the poor, widows & orphans, cheerful giving, worship, humility & servant hood, forgiveness, wisdom, honor, truth, honorable, right, pure, lovely, godlikeness (righteousness), grace, peace, incense & prayer, unity, honesty & integrity

  16. How We Are Sanctified • We are sanctified by truth (Word of God) • John 17:19 (NASB) • For their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth. • Psalm 119:11(AMP) • Your word have I laid(hid) up in my heart, that I might not sin against You. • Joshua 1:8 (NASB) • This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may [a]be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success.

  17. Love of God VS Fear of the Lord

  18. Theological Balancing Act • If one Emphasizes Holiness & Righteousness, they either become legalistic or religious and perform to try to get God’s approval. • On the other hand if one emphasizes the love, Grace and mercy without holiness, they lose motivation for holiness and live a life of “sloppy” grace and entitlement. • Either emphasis negates the power of the cross and the need for holy & righteous living.

  19. Warning From Scripture • 1 Timothy 4:1 (AMP) • But the [Holy] Spirit distinctly and expressly declares that in latter times some will turn away from the faith, giving attention to deluding and seducing spirits and doctrines that demons teach… • 2 Timothy 4:3-4(AMP) • 3 For the time is coming when [people] will not tolerate (endure) sound and wholesome instruction, but, having ears itching [for something pleasing and gratifying], they will gather to themselves one teacher after another to a considerable number, chosen to satisfy their own liking and to foster the errors they hold, • 4 And will turn aside from hearing the truth and wander off into myths and man-made fictions.

  20. Word of God • Logos: The entire word, His written, His spoken, His thoughts, His intent. • Rhema: Sourced in revelation & illumination. The living word, the word given at any moment that gives life. It can be written (scripture) or prophetic, (interpreted) tongues or word of knowledge • 1 Corinthians 14:5 (NASB) • Now I wish that you all spoke in tongues, but even more that you would prophesy; and greater is one who prophesies than one who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets, so that the church may receive edifying. • God is a God of intention, He never wastes words. Every word He speaks has purpose.

  21. Jesus the Living Word • The Word is nit just principles in a book. The Word is a Person • John 1:14(AMP) • And the Word (Christ) became flesh (human, incarnate) and tabernacled (fixed His tent of flesh, lived awhile) among us; and we [actually] saw His glory (His honor, His majesty), such glory as an only begotten son receives from his father, full of grace (favor, loving-kindness) and truth.

  22. God is a God of Intention • Isaiah 55:7-11(AMP) • Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return to the Lord, and He will have love, pity, and mercy for him, and to our God, for He will multiply to him His abundant pardon.8 For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, says the Lord.9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.10 For as the rain and snow come down from the heavens, and return not there again, but water the earth and make it bring forth and sprout, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater,11 So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

  23. How We Are Sanctified • Being Filled with & Living in the Holy Spirit • Ephesians 5:18 (AMP) • And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery; but ever be filled and stimulated with the [Holy] Spirit. • Romans 8:5 (AMP) • For those who are according to the flesh and are controlled by its unholy desires set their minds on andpursue those things which gratify the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit and are controlled by the desires of the Spirit set their minds on andseek those things which gratify the [Holy] Spirit.

  24. Live By The Spirit • Galatians 5:16-24 (AMP) • But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. 17 For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law. 19 Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, 21 envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24 Now those who [k]belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

  25. How Are We Sanctified • By Practicing Spiritual Disciplines: • Richard Foster • Inward Disciplines • Meditation. Prayer, Fasting, Study, listening • Ephesians 6:18 (NASB) • With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints, • Outward Disciplines • Simplicity, solitude, submission, service

  26. Corporate Disciplines • Confession, Worship, guidance, celebration, giving • Hebrews 12:10 (NASB) • For theydisciplinedus for a shorttime as seemedbest to them, but He disciplinesus for ourgood, sothat we mayshare His holiness. • Praying in the Spirit • Jude 1:20(NASB) • But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, • Matthew 26:41(NASB) • Keep watching and praying that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

  27. Result: Purify My Soul • James 4:6-8 (NASB) • 6 But He gives a greater grace. Therefore it says, “God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” 7 Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded

  28. The Light Within • Your attitudes & thoughts literally clothe you in light or darkness. You are constantly emanating power which have a strong effects the spirit realm, you and others. Everything you emanate manifests in the spirit realm as a color, a sound, a smell and can often be tasted. • This light, color, sound, smell passing through you either defiles you or purifies you.

  29. Every negative, selfish, jealous, angry, unforgiving, or attitude of self pity is manifest this way. These attitudes will prematurely age you, cause disease and generally cause decay on every level of your existence. • On the other hand, every loving, kind, longsuffering, attitude will do the opposite and bless you with abundant life. • Isaiah 61:3…praise is a garment you clothe yourself with.

  30. Watch your attitude

  31. Power of Words • Proverbs 15:4 (AMP) • A gentle tongue [with its healing power] is a tree of life, but willful contrariness in it breaks down the spirit. • Proverbs 18:21 (AMP) • Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life].

  32. The Body has Two Chemicals in our Brain • Quortosol – Its released by negative thoughts about myself. Too much puts pressure on the function of our body organs, esp. liver • Serotonin – Released by positive thoughts which release a presence of well-being and accelerates healing. • Dr. David VanKouvering – Steamed rice experiment • Dr. Moto’s experiment of words of intent on ice crystals • The DNA of a mouse; Cancer cell (Chopin’s “Death March”) • Experiment with movies on the ill • People who watched comedy healed 50-60% faster than those who watched depressing ones.

  33. Becoming People of Love • Mark 12:30-31(AMP)  • And you shall love the Lord your God out of and with your whole heart and out of and with all your soul (your [life) and out of and with all your mind (with your faculty of thought and your moral understanding) and out of and with all your strength. This is the first and principal commandment.31 The second is like it and is this, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.

  34. Love is two-fold • It’s directed upward & outward • 1 John 4:11-12;20 (AMP)  • 11 Beloved, if God loved us so [very much], we also ought to love one another.12 No man has at any time [yet] seen God. But if we love one another, God abides (lives and remains) in us and His love (that love which is essentially His) is brought to completion (to its full maturity, runs its full course, is perfected) in us! • If anyone says, I love God, and hates (detests, abominates) his brother [in Christ], he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, Whom he has not seen.

  35. 1 Corinthians 13 • 1 Corinthians 131-4(AMP)  • If I [can] speak in the tongues of men and [even] of angels, but have not love (that reasoning, intentional, spiritual devotion such as is inspired by God’s love for and in us), I am only a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.2 And if I have prophetic powers (the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose), and understand all the secret truths and mysteries and possess all knowledge, and if I have [sufficient] faith so that I can remove mountains, but have not love (God’s love in me) I am nothing (a useless nobody).3 Even if I dole out all that I have [to the poor in providing] food, and if I surrender my body to be burned or in order that I may glory, but have not love (God’s love in me), I gain nothing.

  36. 4 Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily. 5 It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God’s love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong].6 It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail.7 Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening].

  37. 8 Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end]. As for prophecy (the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose), it will be fulfilled and pass away; as for tongues, they will be destroyed and cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away [it will lose its value and be superseded by truth].9 For our knowledge is fragmentary (incomplete and imperfect), and our prophecy (our teaching) is fragmentary (incomplete and imperfect).10But when the complete and perfect (total) comes, the incomplete and imperfect will vanish away (become antiquated, void, and superseded).

  38. Conclusion • When your mind and lips lose the power to hurt, the light coming through you will be so brilliant and powerful it will transform you and others. • Moses came to end of his life in perfect health. He would have lived on but God took him. The scriptures tell us that he was the meekest man that had ever lived. The meekness and humility he walked in so transformed him that his natural life did not diminish. The second reason is that he spent so much time in the manifest presence of God.

  39. He that loves his brother abides in the light and that light will purify and transform him. When you become love, you become like God for God is love • When love is pouring through you, light is pouring through you and that light will transform you • A profound union begins to take place between you and God as you learn to love and give out love. That union will transform you into His likeness; 1 Jn.2:7-11; 4:16

  40. The Cleansing of Our Soul • Generational: Like spiritual DNA, our father’s iniquities effect us for generations • Free-masonry, witchcraft, immorality, spilling of blood • Exodus 20:5 (AMP) •  You shall not bow down yourself to them or serve them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate Me, • Identification repentance • Releasing forgiveness to the trangresser • Washing & Cleansing all effect on the generational line

  41. Freeing Our Spirit • Hebrews 12(AMP) • Therefore then, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who have borne testimony to the Truth], let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us,

  42. The Weighted Down Spirit • Pre-natal Wounds – rejection, gender-confusion • The Wounded spirit …power of words • A timid or Fearful spirit - trauma • An imprisoned spirit - abuse or captivity • Crushed spirit – inappropriate burden bearing, manipulation & control from leaders • A damaged & broken spirit – rejection, grief • Defiled spirit – sexual abuse, immorality • Shattered spirit - occult (SRA)

  43. Sexual Immorality • 1 Corinthians 6:14(AMP) • And God both raised the Lord to life and will also raise us up by His power.15 Do you not see and know that your bodies are members (bodily parts) of Christ (the Messiah)? Am I therefore to take the parts of Christ and make [them] parts of a prostitute? Never! Never!16 Or do you not know and realize that when a man joins himself to a prostitute, he becomes one body with her? The two, it is written, shall become one flesh.

  44. 17 But the person who is united to the Lord becomes one spirit with Him. 18 Shun immorality and all sexual looseness [flee from impurity in thought, word, or deed]. Any other sin which a man commits is one outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 19 Do you not know that your body is the temple (the very sanctuary) of the Holy Spirit Who lives within you, Whom you have received [as a Gift] from God? You are not your own,20 You were bought with a price [purchased with a preciousness and paid for, [made His own]. So then, honor God and bring glory to Him in your body.

  45. Conclusion • Sex outside of the arena of marriage bring perhaps the greatest defilement because they counterfeit true intimacy or oneness in spirit. Whenever Israel went apostate, it seem to always involve sexual immorality because it brought counterfeit union. We need to understand the relationship between sex & worship • We need to break all soul ties with those we’ve had sexual relationships with and send back and receive back every piece we’ve received • The same atom can be in 2 parts of the universe at the same time

  46. The Blood of Jesus • 1 Corinthians 6:11(AMP)  • And such some of you were [once]. But you were washed clean (purified by a complete atonement for sin and made free from the guilt of sin), and you were consecrated (set apart, hallowed), and you were justified [pronounced righteous, by trusting] in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the [Holy] Spirit of our God.

  47. The Blood • 1 John 1:7(AMP) • But if we [really] are living and walking in the Light, as He [Himself] is in the Light, we have [true, unbroken] fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses (removes) us from all sin and guilt [keeps us cleansed from sin in all its forms and manifestations]. • Immunity: Anti-bodies & antitoxins in the blood keep infection from getting a foothold. • After a person has been subject to disease, these element are produced in large amounts making sure you don’t get the disease again.

  48. The Blood of Jesus • 1 John 1:9Amplified Bible (AMP) • If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously] cleanse us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action].

  49. Can’t Overcome without the Blood • Revelation 12:10-11(AMP) • Then I heard a strong (loud) voice in heaven, saying, Now it has come—the salvation and the power and the kingdom (the dominion, the reign) of our God, and the power (the sovereignty, the authority) of His Christ (the Messiah); for the accuser of our brethren, he who keeps bringing before our God charges against them day and night, has been cast out! 11 And they have overcome (conquered) him by means of the blood of the Lamb and by the utterance of their testimony, for they did not love and cling to life even when faced with death [holding their lives cheap till they had to die for their witnessing].

  50. Living Out of Our Spirit • Spiritual disciplines • Prayer & fasting, giving, worship, scripture reading & memorization, serving, hospitality etc. • Meditation: • 1 Chronicles 16:9(AMP) • Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; meditate on and talk of all His wondrous works and devoutly praise them! • Psalm 77:12(AMP) • I will meditate also upon all Your works and consider all Your [mighty] deeds.
