  3. Brief Bio • Lancaster High; Ohio University; Ashland University • 15th year of teaching • Grades taught: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 • Husband – Ed (12 years) Children - Aaron (9), Evan (6), Ellie (3) • Enjoy family, fitness, nutrition, and growing in knowledge

Classroom Goals • Resourcefully create a safe, nurturing learning culture integrating best practice instruction • Determine learning needs and adjust strategies when needed for achievement • Institute expectations for child to develop responsibility and time management skills • Prepare learners for upcoming Junior High expectations • Model honesty, sincerity, and passion for learning • Encourage and practice communication • Find joy each day… laugh & smile!

  6. “Specials” Schedule • Monday = P.E. & Library *remember sneakers & books! • Tuesday = No Specials • Wednesday = P.E. • Thursday = Computer Class • Friday = Music (GALES Library)

Classroom Policies • Homework – M,T,W,Th *typically 3 subjects *10 min/grade level = 50 mins for 5th grade **** Critical to practice academic exercises daily for achievement. **** • Management: Behavior – see class rules Rewards – “Caught Shining” Consequences – see bulletin board • Schedule (see attachment)

Program – Winter • Outdoor Ed (Alley Park)* – Spring • Campfire to Courthouse* - Spring • Ohio Achievement Test – May (Reading / Math / Science / Social Studies)
