  2. 2013 County Summary Summary The number of drug arrests in Jefferson County1rose between 2008 to 2013, largely due to an increase in methamphetamine arrests. Deaths related to methamphetamine use in the county ranged from three in 2005 to zero in 2012, the latest data available. No deaths were reported for heroin or cocaine from 2006 to 2012 in the county. In the Warm Springs Indian Reservation, treatment admissions were highest for marijuana use followed by methamphetamine, and controlled prescription drugs in 2012. No treatment admissions were reported for cocaine or heroin between 2007 and 2012 in the reservation. The number of indoor marijuana plants seized in the Jefferson County was 23 in 2007, 5 in 2010, 3 in 2011, and 27 in 2013. Outdoor marijuana plants seized totaled 20,865 in 2008 and 14,494 in 2009; no outdoor plants were reported seized in the county from 2009 through 2013. The number of medical marijuana cardholders in Jefferson County grew from zero in April 2006 to 288 in October 2013, but remained lower per capita when compared to the HIDTA Region and Oregon.   8. Return to arrests page County Arrests The number of methamphetamine arrests in Jefferson County varied from two to seven between 2006 and 2013. Marijuana arrests in the county remained fairly level during the same period, dropping to one in 2013. No heroin or cocaine arrests were reported in Jefferson County between 2006 and 2013.

The number of drug arrests in the county rose between 2008 and 2013 due mainly to an increase in methamphetamine arrests.

  11. Return to treatment page Treatment Admissions Treatment admissions for abuse of methamphetamine in the Warm Springs Indian Reservation declined 71 percent between 2004 and 2012. The number of admissions for marijuana abuse fluctuated during the same period, rising 26 percent between 2004 and 2012. Controlled prescription drug admissions increased from zero to three admissions from 2004 to 2012, while heroin and cocaine admissions have remained at zero since 2007.

Cocaine-related deaths have remained at zero since 2006. No deaths related to heroin use were in the county between 2004 and 2012..

Drug-related deaths in Jefferson County have fluctuated since 2004 – driven by the number of methamphetamine-related fatalities. There were no reported deaths related to abuse of methamphetamine, heroin, or cocaine in the county in 2012.
