  2. Introduction For this project, Geology on the Go, we are supposed to demonstrate the rock cycle and the three different types of rocks (igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary).

  3. Igneous Rock Igneous rock is formed when melted rock or magma cools. Igneous rock is very shiny and sharp.

  4. Metamorphic Rock Metamorphic Rock is formed underground due to extreme heat and pressure. Metamorphic Rock looks like different rocks blended together.

  5. Sedimentary Rock Sedimentary Rock is formed when a combination of rock fragments, seashells, and fossils are compressed in layers and hardened. The sediments are broken down from weathering and erosion. Then they are transferred to different locations through deposition. Then the sediments are compacted together to create sedimentary rock. Sedimentary Rock has a bunch of layers.

  7. Remember…. All rocks change from over long periods of time and any rock type can become any other kind of rock.
