Grading Policy • Homework – 5% • Participation/Behavior – 10% • Classwork – 25% • Tests/Projects/Quizzes – 60% • Second Chance Work Policy • Second chance work may be assigned only if requested by the student. • Second chance work will be graded by averaging the original attempt grade and the 2nd attempt grade.
Homework • Students will receive and be responsible for completing their assigned homework each evening • Homework will be assigned each night except for Friday • Unless that day’s classwork was not completed and is sent home to complete • Occasionally long term projects will be assigned that will need to be worked on at home
Essential Supplies • Binder • 5 divider tabs • Labeled: Math, Science, Health, Reading, Social Studies • Loose leaf paper • Placed inside each tab • Keep extra packs at home in order to replenish when needed • Pencils/Pens/Colored Pencils or Crayons • One folder (take home/HW) • 2 Composition Notebooks (science/reading)
Behavior Expectations • Hampden is a PBIS school • (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) • 6th graders will be able to earn “Hampden Dojo points” throughout the week • www.classdojo.com • Each week the goal is to earn 18 points in order to participate in the weekly Friday incentives • There will be bigger incentives offered to those students who consistently earn 18 points each week quarterly
Attendance & Tardiness • School wide goal for improving attendance • Opportunity to win a bike raffle and end of the year trip for good attendance • Entering the building past 8:00 am will result in being marked tardy • Students will be directed to collect a late pass after 8:00 am • If your child is not here… they cannot learn!
