  34. 5TH amendment • (5TH-8TH Due Process – government must treat people fairly) • Miranda Warning – must be informed of rights • Double Jeopardy – can’t be tried for the same crime twice • Eminent Domain – government can take private property, for public use, for a fair price • Grand Jury – determine if there is enough evidence to take someone to trial • Pleading the 5th – right not to testify against oneself

  37. 6th-8th Amendments • 6th Amendment - right to a speedy, public, and fair trial by a jury • 7th Amendment – permits jury trial over money and property • 8th Amendment – prohibits cruel and unusual punishment

  38. 9th-10th Amendments • 9th Amendment – Not all rights are included in the Constitution • 10th Amendment – powers not given to the national government, are given to the states
