Idea One • Title: Mainstream Scene • Genre: Mainstream music – pop, hip hop, rock and RnB. • Target audience: Teenagers and young adults • Front cover image is a picture of a popular mainstream artist such as Kid Cudi • Main topic will be something recent about Kid Cudi such as a new single/album or interview where rumors are answered to satisfy fans. • Features will include: Top 10 artists of the week, Most rated song of the week, Upcoming UK tours from popular mainstream artists. • Colour theme: Gold and black

  3. Idea Two • Title: Tempo • Genre of product: Drum and Bass • Main cover story will be ‘The growth of Drum and Bass’ • Features will include: What’s the latest news within DnB, The Korg product line and how it changed DnB forever and new upcoming artists • Colour scheme: Green and black

Idea Three • Title: Rapture • Genre of product: Indie • Target audience: Teenagers to relatively young adults, ages 15 – 29. • Most readers are part of some form of indie social group • Layout/House style: Similar to that of MOJO magazine • Storyline: Gig review, Band of the month, Legends of Indie, band interview. • Colour theme: red, black and white mainly.

Peer assessment • After having my initial ideas assessed by several peers, a conclusion was made of choosing Idea Three, Rapture the Indie magazine. • The reason for this is that most peers said it was a new fresh idea and the title ‘ Rapture’ had a ring to as it seemed to sound profession/genuine. Also because of the fact that I told them the definition of rapture was ecstatic joy or delight and most peers agreed that they experienced these feelings when listening to indie music. • This choice allows a lot of potential as most of today's ‘music greats’ create indie music such as Vampire Weekend or Radiohead.
