Voluntary Opportunities FairWednesday 12th October 2011Brough Hall, Paisley Campus, 11am-3pmOpen to all students and Staff Why Volunteer? • Use this Voluntary Fair to explore opportunities available in the Students Association and outside organisations – charities, community organisations and public bodies that need volunteers. Past examples include befriending, activity co coordinating, sports, events, marketing campaigns, web site design, video production, audio technology, administration and many others. 10 reasons to Volunteer • Gain skills that employers value • Meet new people and build your network • Put something back into the community • Get involved in something you are passionate about • Do something different from you course of study • Gain a sense of satisfaction • International students – improve your English • Gain work experience relevant for your career • Get access to training • Finally ... its fun! •  From 2011 UWS volunteer recognition awards will be awarded to students to recognise their volunteering work while a student at UWS.
