Position Opening Page 1 Job Classification: Network Server Administrator Opening Date: June 27, 2014Location: Dobson Office Closing Date: July 7, 2014 Grade: 10, Exempt Primary Job Function: Design, implement, and maintain Windows based LAN/WAN, Active Directory and other systems and applications in a medium to large size multi-site enterprise environment. Configure, install, maintain, and manage Windows and VMware servers. Perform system upgrades to enhance server capacity or performance. Install hardware upgrades, software upgrades, patches, service packs, etc. Maintain systems to operate 7x24 with high availability. Proactively monitor and maintain servers to meet established uptime service levels. Troubleshoot and resolve system problems. Complete and close assigned trouble tickets and work orders to meet established service levels. Prepare and maintain system documentation. Assist in management of Cisco infrastructure, firewalls, VPN, routing and switching technologies, and system management tools. Provide senior level technical support to IT staff, including recommendations on new server configurations, server upgrades, integration of new applications into the existing server environment, etc. Design, implement, and maintain security measures and infrastructure to safeguard enterprise data and resources. Establish monitoring and reporting systems to detect and alert misuse of computing systems and information. Recognize and identify potential areas where existing data security policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed, especially regarding future business expansion. Manage medium to large-scale projects to implement new systems or technology. Prepare detailed project plans and presentations for both technical and management audiences. Specify and cost new system hardware and software based on user or project requirements. Identify, evaluate, and implement new technologies that complement and expand the functionality of our computing services. Essential Requirements: Wear all required safety equipment including but not limited to hardhats, safety glasses, safety harness, ear plugs, dust masks and gloves. Able to ascend and descend stairs and ladders Use of both hands and have full motion of arms and hands Able to do bending, kneeling, and twisting Able to lift 75lbs Able to stand or sit at computer workstations for extended periods of time Required and predictable attendance Must have a valid drivers license and acceptable driving record Must be able to travel in state and out of state as required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Five or more years as a full-time, intensive experience supporting Microsoft systems in a multi-state organization Solid background with administration of a Windows based network system Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field Technical/Industry Requirements: Microsoft certification preferred Cisco certification preferred Minimum 5 years Network and Security Administration experience Duties and Responsibilities: Manage/support/maintain LAN/WAN/WLAN including: Microsoft Servers, VMware Servers, Active Directory, MS SQL, Citrix, wireless networks Monitor and administer network activity, connectivity and security General Server Administration: Design, specify and implement new servers as needed

Evaluate/Maintain patch level and security updates Install and Troubleshoot hardware and software Experience in design, set up and maintenance of remote sites Maintain knowledge of current and upcoming technology issues and developments Performance Metrics: Server up time Administration of user accounts, permissions and network resources Development and maintenance of network and server documentation Installation and support of Application Servers and communication between information systems to ensure availability, accessibility, data flow and security.
