  2. Ben Franklin was born in Boston, Massachusetts. Ben Franklin was born in 1706. Ben was at school until 10 years old. Ben went to work making soap and candles.

  3. When Ben was 12 years old he and his brother worked at a newspaper in 1718. Ben and his brother did not get along. Ben moved to Philadelphia in 1726.

  4. In Philadelphia Ben worked on a newspaper. He wrote and printed a newspaper. Ben worked to start a library, school, fire department and hospital.

  5. Ben Franklin signed the Declaration of Independence. America and England were in a war. The war was the American Revolution. Ben Franklin went to France he asked them to help. Ben Franklin signed the Constitution. The Constitution is laws. Ben was 81 years old. He signed the Constitution in 1787.

  6. Ben Franklin died at 84 years old in 1790. He helped Philadelphia become a great city. He helped the United States become a free country.
