BarcelonaArt • A giant temple designed by the architect Antonio Gaudi that has been under construction since 1882. • MNAC - People create exact replicas of other pieces of art; some are original and it is all outdoors. • Joan Miro-Dona I Ocell sculpture is 20 meters high and is made of artificial stone and is partly covered with ceramics

VeniceArt • Architecture: Museo del 700 Veneziano ca Rezzonico has a collection of art works by 19th and 20th century artists from Italy • Peggy Guggenheim Museum - In 1939 Peggy lived in France and opened a museum dedicated to modern art (that she bought). Now it is a one floor building that looks out on the Grand Canal.

  9. Venice Tourist Attraction • Grand Canal - goes throughout the city and many places can only be reached by gondola. The gondolas are handcrafted and some are extremely ancient.

  13. VeniceCool CustomsDating and Marriage • They date in couples or groups • Women normally get married at age 26; men at age 29 • Some couples live in the same house before getting married • Divorce is only granted after three or more years of legal separation

  14. ParisArt • The Louvre - originally built as a fortress; holds more than 6000 European paintings • Arc de Triomphe - inside of the walls there are names of 386 generals in Napoleon’s armies and 96 of his triumphs

  15. ParisTourist AttractionEiffel Tower • Took 2 years and 2 months to build • Is used as a radio broadcasting tower and observation tower • Weighs 10,000 tons • There are 1,665 stairs to the top

  18. ParisCool CustomsRecreation • Rugby and soccer are the main sports in Paris • Tons of individual sports • Free time activities include going to plays or concerts, visiting museums and watching television

  19. ParisCool CustomsDating and Marriage • French teenagers normally have a job • Normally live in the same house before getting married • Education is an important criteria in picking a date
