Fort Meade (BRAC) Fort Meade is Maryland’s Largest Employer 3rd largest workforce of any Army installation 7.5% of Maryland’s economic activity is from military installations—Fort Meade, including NSA comprises half of this activity. Total 5.4 million square feet either out of the ground or in planning includes NSA In ten years, workforce has grown from 35,000 to 56,000. 60,000 expected by 2015
