  3. Answer to Video • 1. Robben Island is an island near Cape Town that was the site of a famous prison. In this prison, the government held Nelson Mandela and other political prisoners. • 2. They were political prisoners who were thrown into prison because of their commitment to equality. • 3. He said that those who fought against apartheid had achieved a peaceful transformation to democracy. He says that if it could happen in South Africa, then it could happen anywhere.
