    8. A New Era in Wound Care An understanding of recent development in the this expanding field will help you to evaluate changing practice. In the past the primary aim was to protect wound while nature repaired the damage. Current practice creating ideal climate for the cell involved in healing.

    11. WHY this course ? Through this course, we have the confidence that this be an unique way to ensure the creation an uniform interdisciplinary, inter-functional management strategies, which will set national standards and optimizes the personal skills of every single participant.

    12. This will enable not only the development of an individual and professional groups but also create a basis for harmonization and setting a standard across Saudi Arabia and encourage development of specialized wound care clinics in different health care facilities.

Wound Course This Two days course is designed to provide family physicians,  emergency room physicians, interns, junior surgeons, nurse  practitioners, nurses and physician  assistants  and anyone who is interested in wound management with the latest basic information on the process of wound care.

    14. Educational Objectives Upon completion of this course, the participant should be able to: Identify the different phases of wound healing, relate clinically apparent findings to those phases, and describe the effect of specific procedures on wound healing Describe anatomy and physiology of viable and non-viable tissues and structured encountered in wound care. Describe the classifications of ulcers, means of assessment and their detailed physical examination, with concomitant vascular & neurological evaluations and clinical laboratory studies

    15. Educational Objectives Learn how to diagnose infections in chronic wounds and.  How to take proper swabs for culture and how to do Gram staining. Identify different types of debridement and understand the indications and contraindications of each . Select and apply appropriate dressings . Make appropriate referrals for others.    

    16. Practical experience in: Vascular evaluation, Wound debridement , and Proper dressing selection will be provided using animal limbs and on   models under the supervision of trainer

    17. A simple word to say but difficult to apply IT does not matter who is the boss. Only With love we will progress forwards. ( M. Hegazi 2006)
