This project aims to improve the design and assembly process of Herman Miller's office furniture overhead storage door, reducing costs and enhancing production efficiency. Through DFMA research, cost analysis, redesigning, prototype creation, and collaboration with Herman Miller engineers, the team will implement DFMA concepts to achieve the project objectives. Literature sources include works by Ulrich & Eppinger, Otto & Wood, and Boothroyd, Dewhurst & Knight. The project is constrained by time, cost, and Herman Miller's production capabilities.
