DFMA Oral Progress Report: Redesigning Herman Miller's Office Furniture Overhead Storage Door

This project aims to improve the design and assembly process of Herman Miller's office furniture overhead storage door, reducing costs and enhancing production efficiency. Through DFMA research, cost analysis, redesigning, prototype creation, and collaboration with Herman Miller engineers, the team will implement DFMA concepts to achieve the project objectives.   3. Project Objectives • Eliminate the racking condition at assembly line build & installation • Improve ease of assembly for the operators in the production line • Improve the bracket assembly process to eliminate the dents on the face of the door. • Eliminate excess packaging
