  2. Agenda • Reading Goal: • As we read, we will contrast the viewpoints of three narrators and draw conclusions about them. • Today’s Big Question: • Why do people write about themselves in journals and diaries? • Team Cooperation Goal: help and encourage others

  3. Perspective T-P-S • What are some other words that contain the word part spec? How does the meaning of spec help you figure out the definitions of these words?

  4. Perspective T-P-S • What do you see? • How does this happen?

  5. Listening • As we read, we will contrast the viewpoints of three narrators and draw conclusions about them. • Pgs 40-45 • How is Trudi’s view of Wallace different from Rachel’s? • Do you think Trudi holds Wallace responsible for the giant knot? How can you tell? • After hearing the story from Trudi’s point of view, what can you conclude about her? How would you describe Trudi?

  6. Vocabulary

  7. Read pgs 50-55 silently • What does Wallace think of Trudi? How does this compare with Rachel’s opinion of her? (write) • What might be the real reason Rachel is so uncomfortable with Wallace taking part in play rehearsals? • Imagine that the scene in Cavanaugh’s basement is narrated by Cavanaugh instead of Wallace. What do you think he might say about Wallace? Why would he refuse to ask Wallace for help? • Why does Rachel write letters to Julia Roberts? Does she expect the actress to answer them?

  8. Reflection # heads • Rachel says writing letters to Julia Roberts is like writing in a journal or diary. What kinds of things do people write in journals? • Why would you want to narrate your day-to-day life in a journal? • Vocab practice.
