BDUs • Battle Dress Uniform • Memory Work • Insignia: 1 inch parallel and centered to the leading edge • Name Tape: centered on top of but not overlapping the right breast pocket • Civil Air Patrol Tape: centered on top of but not overlapping the left breast pocket • Boots: must be shined and in good repair • Sleeves: will be roled in warm climates and unrolled in cool climates • When rolled, will not extend past ½ inch above elbow • Backings • Insignia and cover

Blues • Memory Work • Insignia: 1 inch parallel and centered to the leading edge • Name Plate: centered on top of but not overlapping the right breast pocket (male)/ even with or up to 1 ½ inches higher or lower than the first exposed button, parallel to the ground (females) • Ribbons: centered on top of but not overlapping the left breast pocket (males)/ aligned with the bottom of the name plate parallel to the ground (females) • Cookie: 1 ½ inches parallel and centered to the leading edge • Shoes: must be shined and in good repair • Sleeves: cadets will wear short sleeve blouses • The sleeves will be creased at the back of the epaulet • Backings • Insignia, ribbons, name plate, cookie

Female Grooming Standards • Hair • Will be neatly arranged and shaped • Will be conservative, feminine, and not prevent proper wear of service hat • Only inconspicuous pins and combs • Must not fall below the bottom edge of collar • Must not exceed three inches in bulk • Nails • Length will not interfere with duties • Polish must be conservative, single color, and in good taste • Must not be chipped • French manicures are acceptable

  5. Female Grooming Standards • Earrings will be small, spherical, conservative, diamond, gold, white pearl, or silver • Must fit tightly • One earring per earlobe • Tattoos will not be exposed

  6. Male Grooming Standards • Hair • Tapered appearance • Must not touch the ears or collar • Sideburns must be neatly trimmed • Must not extend past bottom of ear lobe • Bangs must not be exposed when headgear is worn • Mustaches must be neatly trimmed • Beards and goatees are forbidden • Earrings will not be worn • Tattoos will not be exposed Tapered Block
