The Shire The Shire is the homeland of hobbits. From here, Gandalf informs Frodo Baggins of the power of the Ring, and the quest that must be undertaken to destroy it and its owner, Sauron. SamwiseGamgee listens to them talk, and becomes Frodo’s companion.
Minas Tirith Minas Tirithis where Sauronsends his army. Under the command of Gandalf, the men of Gondor hold off the siege until Aragorn arrives with an army of undead, thus saving the city where Aragorn later becomes king.
Isengard Isengard is where Saruman creates his army In allegiance with Sauron. He angers the guardians Of the Fangorn forest, who attack Isengard when Saruman’s army lays siege to Helms Deep fortress.
Rivendell Rivendell is home to the elves. There, Elrond gives advice, weapons, and hospitality to travellers. There, it was decided that Frodo and Sam would be accompanied by men, a dwarf, and an elf to aid them in their journey.
Mount Doom Mount Doom is the final destination of Frodo and Sam. There, the Ring was forged and so there they must cast it back into the fire to destroy it and Sauron.
