  2. Those who work and volunteer at the centre, work hard with people, seeking a new life and a fresh start in Canada. It can be difficult for people to start again in a country with different customs, laws and languages….. Practical support is offered to enable each person settle, and become an active citizen of Canada. The FCJ Youth Network is group aimed at helping young people to become part of Canadian society. May the Lord repay you for what you have done. May you be richly rewarded by the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge.” Ruth 2:12

  3. FRIDAY 24TH OCTOBER 2014 I'm originally from Trinidad an Tobago. I love to sing, write poems and short stories. FCJ Youth Network has become my family. They welcome me into their little family . For me being part of the FCJ Youth Network, it has been a great experience . I have made a lot of friends and I have been able to build a new community here in Canada. The FCJ Youth Network is an amazing group that has provided me great support and has helped me gain a lot of confidence.  I have been able to discover and develop my leadership skills. Skills that I have been able to share with other youth in the community. The Network has given me a sense of belonging something very important for newcomer youth. I wish many youth could have the opportunity to experience this when they come to Canada. Over the past year working alongside FCJ Refugee Centre has been a tremendous experience for me. Being a new comer in Canada I first came across the volunteer opportunity with this centre at another group that I attended and it got my attention…….Seeing everyone treat each other like family and having that genuine bond no matter the back ground of the person……. May the Lord repay you for what you have done. May you be richly rewarded by the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge.” Ruth 2:12

  4. Prayer of Welcome Lord, our God, source of all life,you reveal yourself in the depths of our beingdrawing us to share in your life and love. Bless each of us as we respond to your Spirit’sinvitation to open wide the doors to Christ. Make the doors of our hearts,our homes and communitieswide enough to receiveall who need human love and fellowship,narrow enough to shut out all envy,prejudice and pride. Let us hasten to welcome the stranger,and so welcome your Son.We make this prayer in his name,Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
