  5. Complex Sentences These are formed when you join a main clauseand a subordinate clause together. Main clause – has a subject and a verb and makes sense on its own. Subordinate clause – does not make sense on its own. Monday 13th October 2014 I am learning to identify a complex sentence.

  7. Underline the complex sentences with a red pencil. Highlight the subordinate clause in yellow. Highlight the main clause in orange.
